AA gets into ATL before WN tries to, the Southeast gets another handy international carrier, AA gets a raft of new 737s, and the 717 fleet gets consolidated...when the 717s are sold to MEH!
Then gradually the ATL routes are downsized and eventually eliminated, and soon afterward the rest of the AirTran network is eventually shut down.
