Another curiosity: did there use to be a terminal really on the French side, that is across the runway from the main terminal? As a youngster in 1971, I flew NCE-GVA and thought this was where we deplaned and took a moving sidewalk under the runways. When I knew before the trip that there was a French side, this was how I pictured it, and maybe I couldn't tell that the "crossing" to the Swiss side wasn't all that long when it happened.
