Huh? Bashing? Says who - other than someone playing "armchair meteorologist" from 200 miles away?

At ITO, NOAA hasn't reported wind above 9 MPH in the last 24 hours, and has only reported 1.84" of rain there in the last 24 hours. When it rains "hard" here, we get that much in a few hours or less.

At KOA, NOAA hasn't reported wind above 13 MPH in the last 24 hours, but I don't know whether the rain gauge there is broken, or just rusty from lack of use, or whether they just don't have one because it hardly ever rains...

Must be some new kinder, gentler form of bashing.
