After geting a call from reporter at the WSJ Internet edition doing a story regarding all the confusion,I called E-Trade again.When I called last month ,I was told immediately that UAL bonus was still available. When I called yesterday,the agent first told me that the UAL deal was over and that they're now giving Delta miles.However,after being put on hold,the rep came back and said that I could either rcv. UA or Delta miles and to note which one I wanted on the application.In the mean time,I've also gotten mailings from E-trade offering Hilton HHonors points,and one offering $75 for opening an acct.It seems at this point that e-trade will promise whatever you want(miles,points,$$) as long as you open an acct. with them.Not a co. I would stick my money in,at least not before getting a confirmation from them that I'd get whatever was promised.
