A relative I was talking with said he had decided to open an E*Trade account, so (with his concurrence, and anyway it was I who had turned him on to E*Trade in the first place) I went to refer him and collect the Mileage Plus miles bonus. Couldn't find the page at E*Trade or on United website.

Called E*Trade and was told that, despite the statement in my most recent mailing from United that the offer was good through March 31, 2000, the offer had been terminated as of the end of January.

There's 5000 miles "flown", and a batch he misses out on as well.
