No way. 45 minutes for that? Ain't gonna happen.
And, it's not beyond the realm of possibility for a residual winter mess at O'Hare in March. Sounds wierd, but it can happen.
Now, it's hard to tell the OP's AA status or what class the award is in...which would open up some possibilities for ORD. If you're a Plat and/or flying in Business Class, there's the "soda machines" at the G AAdmirals Club, pre-flight showers, free drinks (two drink chits per person) and snacks & internet surfing at the H/K A/C. If you're an EXP, there's the "leisurely lunch" option at the Flagship Lounge...then all the A/C options as well.
If the OP is an A/C member, definitely a case of when the membership comes in handy. Weather or not it's worth the $50 for a guest pass is the OP's call.
If the OP has Business Extraa account w/ AA, might be a good use of points on an A/C day pass. Might be...again, the OP's call.
If none of the above, I think there are plenty of threads here in the AA forum as well as over in the Chicago forum on everyone's restaurant preferences at O'Hare. A certain burrito place comes to mind

.
Maybe the OP has friends that live/work out in the burbs by O'Hare that could "resuce" them for a couple of hours at a local eatery or bar, or could snag a taxi somewhere. 5 hours would be enough time to get out of the airport & grab something nearby.
