With current liquids rules you will need to check the duty free alcohol at NRT. While you can take duty free from CAN, as soon as you pass through security at the next airport (NRT) you will need to have put it in your checked bags or it will be confiscated (there are some exceptions - eg same day intra-eu flights for duty free purchased in EU).
Yes -- and unlike in the US you don't pick up your checked bags in Narita when just transferring, so it's not going to be easy to check the liquids.
