Whilst we are mentioning OT border oddities, Basel is also one of only two places where you can take a tram across an international borders. Line number 10 pops out of Basel, into Leymen, France and then goes back across the border.

As for the comment about BSL / MLH airport being a little to large, that is a complaint I can live with. Ten years ago it was a very small place you where you did not want to get stranded and the small shared lounge was only accessible by CE passengers with Gold cards and then it was a smokey den.
