I tend to agree with this and haven't taken out PPI for years.
However, two months ago next door neighbour (husband - 45) had a stroke, completely out of the blue, just hit the deck. Horrible. He's now in stroke rehab. and that is one long difficult journey.
They had the mortgage and some other finances protected and fair play to the insurance companies they have stepped up to bat. His company only pays 4 weeks sick leave, which was his argument for having payment protection.
In this case I could argue for PPI.
