You cannot book it on delta.com (you need to do it over the phone with them or use a knowledgable travel agent), but this guarantees you to be reacommodated should you miss your connection AND as said does not cost you extra.

Do you know what the fare class on LX and LH flights needs to be in order for an interlining ticket with a DL "M" fare? Probably one of the lowest ones on LX/LH I assume....
