I did pause to look through the doorway (as the old FFC door wasn't cordoned off) noticing the familiar galvanised steel stair case beyond and for a moment thought about chancing it. Sign was still blacked out, as you observed. As flight closing for my connection was perilously close I decided against it - just in case I encountered a locked door down route.
Will be mindful of this next month when I will probably have to go through this again.
That and the Belle Epoque in the F lounge were the only highlights of a fairly awful GLA - IAH run today.
Lowlights included interminable slow bag drop at GLA, surly haven'tachance agent who was very reluctant to check my bag through, broken coffee machine in the GLA lounge replaced by open bowl filled with Nescafe (or more probably Aldi own brand value coffee granules), in seat power not working on the IAH leg, and intermittent IFE. To cap it all, a 50 minute queue for immigration.
Grrr.
