With the new EWR-BOM flight, I was told connecting pax from the mentioned flight must clear customs in BOM and then transfer over to the domestic side.. I’m wondering why is that? With AI connecting pax will clear Customs at the their final destination, and you don’t’ have to put up with the hassle of transferring your luggage.. Anyone know if this is correct, that when you disembark at BOM you have to clear customs and then walk around with the luggage until you check in at the domestic side? Or after clearing customs , does the 9W staff collect your luggage and transfer you over to the domestic?
