CO's Hawaii Operations in a Hurricane?

Hurricane Flossie is going to be making a too-close-for-comfort visit to at least part of the state this week. A big hurricane typically hits Hawaii every 15 years... and the last big one was 15 years ago with Iniki that gave Kauai a good spanking. So they're do.

In any event, what does CO do, if anything, when a hurricane is threatening the island(s)? While a HNL direct strike is unlikely with this and other storms, does CO leave aircraft in Hawaii or do they fly it elsewhere when a hurricane nears the island chain? I understand the distance of HNL to say South Point/Hawaii County, but was wondering if CO plays things conservatively and stays away from the islands (or buckles down on Oahu) when danger lerks.

When Iniki struck, does anyone remember CO doing anything different in the islands?

Do hurricanes also interfere with the GUM-HNL flights or is there enough fuel on those 767's to navigate around any hurricane/typhoon in the area?

I'm (hopefully) arriving in HNL Thursday morning; at that time, Flossie should be well south and west of HNL. But on Friday afternoon, I'm heading out to GUM ...and that route typically follows an area where Flossie is expected to move.
