The only international flight I see arriving at LAX on NW metal is NW2 from NRT and that arrives in the morning, so I'm thinking there may not have been any inbound NW flights (discounting KL codeshares).
And I presume pax coming off other carriers who missed their connections onto NW would have been re-accommodated.
So... NW pax made out okay?
I was on NW2. We were about 90 minutes late, but at the gate at 11:00, and C/I clearance was curiously fast; fastest I have ever had at LAX. We dashed out of there immediately to hoof it across the parking lot to make our CO connection, and did not hear about the meltdown until Sunday evening on national news. A lucky break for us to miss that party. The online news reports mentioned that only the 5 major international terminals were affected, and I don't know if the NW terminal is one of those, but eventually they routed all the passengers through the operational smaller terminals, so the lines still would have been horrendous.
On another note, the reason NW2 was late was a badly handled oversold situation out of Narita. They were looking for at least 15 volunteers (that was the number announced when we were boarding, so I don't know how many others they already had confirmed). They were apparently so reluctant to IDB that they kept flogging the PA for more volunteers. The bid was $750, no hotel voucher mentioned, and apparently few takers. An hour after scheduled departure we thought it was done, and they pulled the boarding ramp away, only to move it back in for another 30 minutes of fun. We were in the coveted 73A/B on the upper deck (thank you FT for the heads-up on that), and watched a very pissed off captain steam down to the gate agent...magically the doors closed, the ramp was yanked back, and we were off. Barely made our connection, but made it home.
