You don't really need a car in Cascais, but I would suggest you hire one for a day while you are there to explore a little, round the coast to Guincho and up into the hills to Sintra, all are within 10 miles of the hotel.
I think the new, stylish hotel being referred to is the
Farol Design Hotel
Sorry, I must have been blind not seeing the beach
. I can only remember sitting on a terrace watching people in the water at a cliff ... sorry about this.
It is not the Farol. The hotel I mention was new building on a sandy beach toward Guincho.
