My last longhaul First Class flight on Thai was mediocre. The food was minimum quality at best...although the breakfast was welcome. The fact that no snacks were offered is also worrisome. However, things like service (i.e.) collecting the used glasses and crockery are something that, I think, costs nothing... I have read many posts in the past where Thai culture may play a role in this practice. Also, as I have mentioned previously, I think proper bedding is appropriate for an airline in TG's league. But, the arrival and departure service offered by Thai is second to none. I think the price point is also reflected in the services offered. Deep down I want to fly Thai, but, the service offered does not match what the competition is offering.
