Hi all,

And thanks for the varying inputs. Just to clarify, I have done similar trips before including via AKL and I was comparing the taxes applicable to the award ticket to taxes applicable to a revenue ticket, so I knew about the NZ$25 departure tax. As I said the taxes turned out to be about GBP60, of which GBP40 was UK APD, and the rest is XT, which is split out as:
14.30UB 5.10IA 3.80SQ 0.30XG

I found the IATA decoder here:

SQ = Airport Improvement Fee (AIF), Intl. - CANADA
UB = UK Passenger Service Charge
XG = Goods and Services Tax (GST) - CANADA

IA isn't listed, but it looks about right for the NZ tax guessed by AX9465 (that IATA document was last updated in 2002 )
