Imagine you are proprietor(s) of a hotel in New Orleans. First, the hurricane damages your property and all your customers disappear for years. Also most of your staff never come back to town.
Eventually the city returns to a semblance of normality and then you are struck by another misfortune, a mistake-rate of $1/night. Which is latched onto by hundreds of wealthy goodfornothings who make a hobby out of flying around just to collect the miles & points.
How would you feel? I know I called them crooks who would not honour their published rate, but really maybe there's room for negotiation.
