I'm thinking that if people want to push, that contacting the Louisiana officials might be more effective than one's own state officials, who probably wouldn't do more than note the complaint. The LA officials may be concerned enough about tourism recovery that they might actually exert pressure. Contacting the city & state tourism depts may also be an avenue. All that said, I'm not sure that I am excited enough about visiting New Orleans at this point to spend my time doing the footwork to push. I hear the tourist areas are OK, but the whole place generally just sounds so depressing. I'll have to see how much of a time investment it is. But thanks, again, to those who have started things in motion!
