really useful - but not quite 100% logical.

i've just booked some F (in 2 class config) flights. 1 from LAX to EWR which according to calculator on BA.com is going to earn me 180 points.

returning, I am going via ORD (was best fare and time that way) but only getting 2 x 60 even though total distance is same (if not slightly more).......
