I flew 1st class LHR-JFK recently and the purser didn't know anything about December being wine month. But he gave me a nice '93 to take home with me anyway. However the collection was overall not so special.

As for water, BA started this long ago for business class so the FA's didn't have to constantly cruise the aisles pouring water.

Alaska has been giving out smaller bottles of water to 1st class for a couple of years now.
