The commute was GREAT this morning -- I drove from Edmonds down to Bellevue / Eastgate, a ride that normally takes 60 to 70 minutes. Today it took 35. The whole morning rush had cleared out by 830a. Calm before the storm, or a sign that this is all much ado about nothing?

The University of Washington is offering its employees who live south of the city campus dorm accommodations with shared bath @ $40/night, in case they would care to pay to live at work while this highway project unfolds. The workers I heard interviewed were downright derisive.

A project engineer on KIRO this AM said that if it rains the project will drag on longer than 19 days because the "polyester concrete" they've spec'd cannot be put down when surfaces are wet.
