If you have the space in your luggage, it is certainly more economical, and perhaps even cheaper, to buy a small (but not travel size) package of detergent, rather than buying two or more travel size packages. Or, depending on what your destination is and whether you will have access to a supermarket or large drug store, just buy a small package at your destination.
