The whole place has been converted to timeshare villas, as far as I know. Your chances of getting in on points at 11 months out is slim; getting in at 4 months out is nearly impossible. They simply don't open up inventory. It's similar at the other Marriott timeshare locations, such as Aruba.

Your other option is the Marriott Wailea. It's not in Kaanapali but it's probably the best you'll be able to do on points.
