There's lots of good places to eat here in Tucson, especially if you like Mexican food. Same with PHX. In TUS, I suggest Guadalajara Grill. It's about two miles north of where you're staying at Prince Road and Campbell Ave. If you're up for a bit of a drive, Machaio's in Oro Valley at Oracle and Orange Grove or out east on Broadway and Kolb.
There's lots of bars within walking distance from your hotel, both on University and on 4th Avenue. School is about to start at the University of Arizona, so there'll be plenty of people crowding the bars.
Send me a PM if you want any more info on hiking and "nature stuff."
One other thing, be very, very careful when driving. The Tucson Police has a new revenue enhancement scheme, like Scottsdale, Paradise Valley etc. They have speed and red light cameras. Also, don't drive into the flooded washes, deep water on the roads etc. The summer rains are here and the washes and roads fill up very fast.
