As much as I think it would be an absolute blast to work for jetBlue, and I have thought about it, I worry about trading in the stability that many of us enjoy outside the airline industry. I work in an industry that isn't as closely tied to oil prices, market fluctuations, terrorism, recessions, some cool new upstart, and technology. This isn't to say that changes in my industry couldn't leave half of us out of work at some point in the future but it just feels alot more stable than an industry with such razor thin profit margins and such brutal competition.

I am sure it would be fun, but I don't think the pay and benefits (excluding free domestic travel) will be as lucrative as other industries. I have nothing concrete to base this on, just a hunch.

And, if your business is Global in nature, keep in mind jetBlue is largely a U.S. (or North American) operation. Sure, jetBlue could be flying to Europe in three years and sure I could be on hold with the unemployment office, its all very possible.
