As I re-read the above it sounds pretty bad, but the comfiness and roominess of the seat was so far above what the competition is offering for the price that I would not hesitate to fly VX again. In fact, I'm flying them again three times in the next four days so I'll have some more experiences to report on! They are bound to iron out some of the kinks in the coming weeks and months.
Hope this was helpful.
It was nice to hear about the long-haul service.
At these prices, I don't expect Ruth's Chris in the sky. I will be very happy to have something that is better than the typical domestic F service, at a reasonable price. The comfy seats and extra space are quite nice, but it will take some getting used to having all my bags up above, even in row 2.
I can't remember the last time I got offered more than nuts or pretzels on a one-hour flight in F class. This was not a meal replacement, but if one was a little hungry it would help and it was better for you than pretzels (except for the mousse

).
One thing that caught me by surprise on my flight to LAX was that the fasten seatbelt sign went off very early, about the same time as the "Turn off Electronics" sign (they have a lighted sign for electronic devices rather than a double chime). This meant I could legally get up and retrieve my briefcase.
