Based on my flying experienced with SQ in both J & Y class, many times I can't get my window seat assigned, which force me to sit next to the window seat. However, I'm also one of the professional photographer that will take many photos during the trip, take off, cruising, landing, etc...but it so happened that in my last 9 months trips, I found more passengers who sit in the window seat next to myself who always kept the shield down. Even though the boarding announcement said you have to pull it up during take off & landing, they just won't obey the rule, worst of all, these passengers were not trying to go to sleep, or reading any magazines or newspapers.
Anybody have any ideas why if they don't want to look outside but then they want to sit in a window seat...?
Don't u have to turn off all electronic devices during takeoff and landing???
I noticed that the stewardess would make a round before takeoff and prior to landing to make sure that all shades are up and that everyone is securely fastened etc... But once u are in the air, most people (including myself) would close the shade as there is nothing much to see outside the window... and will be watching movie and will be easier on the eyes if the shades are down...
