I can second UAVirgin's recommendation of the Oregon WMR968. I imported one from the states a couple of years ago ($1=£1, don't you know

) and it has served me very well ever since. Certainly it's more than a basic thermometer with solar-powered, wireless anenometer, wind vane, barometer/thermometer/hygrometer and rain gauge. Coupled with the correct software (in my case Ambient's Virtual Weather Station and Meteorologica's WeatherFlash) it can produce very nice live results. Mine are at
