I did get my bag the next day however when I returned to BKK several days later, I exited immigration and strolled into the customer service (baggage) office expecting a battle since I had no receipts. The representative takes my claim form and starts banging away on the keyboard. She takes my passport, makes three copies, and has me sign some documents. I needed to sign my signature EXACTLY as it appears on the passport.

Soon after I'm handed an envelope with 3000 baht (almost $100 US)!!!

I found this to be the most hassle-free customer experience ever. Would I get this level of service from a US carrier?

Thanks in advance
i guess you didnt have many expirience with compensation before.

this was the immediate compensation of 100Usd which is paid by any airline in the world even without receipts.

as of the montreal convention youare entitled for 1200XDR if the airline loses your baggage this is around 1500usd.

cheers dp
