I did a booking earlier this year using KF miles on UA flights... The operator was able to go onto their system and advise me right away if tix are available...

Yesterday, I gave them the time and date and was told to wait for 24 hours... In fact, they just sent me an email that most of the flights are confirmed except one on waitlist...

Not sure which is best... But at least that was the difference i noticed...
