No kidding. That's why I always try to sit as far forward as possible when stuck on one of those little tubes.
The engines don't just roar, they resonate in a droning frequency which actually hurts my ears. Extremely unpleasant at the back. Flew the whole time with my fingers plugging my ears. No joke.
