Passing through Heathrow is, according to cognitive neuro-psychologist Dr David Lewis, more stressful than being mugged at knifepoint. Dr Lewis carried out a series of tests at Heathrow at the weekend on behalf of the all-business class airline Silverjet and found that heart rates and blood-pressure readings in his subjects were so high that they posed a serious health risk. "We have measured people in all kinds of situations, from riot policemen confronting a stone-throwing mob to racing drivers and sky divers, and these are among the highest peaks in heart rate and blood pressure that we have ever seen," he said.
