Just re-read this thread and have a follow-up suggestion to stop the mailings. Call customer service and tell them you want to opt out of all marketing (per the little, intentionally easy to ignore pamphlet that came with your card). 888-868-8618 is the number for this. Tell the rep you want to opt out on both choice 1-share info with outside companies, choice 2-share info with affiliated companies.

Note that if you are in California, state law protects by automatically giving you a block on choice 1 (you can unblock if you want).
