If memory serves this information would have been from the first DO so these numbers would be as of the middle of 2005. CO also mentioned at the DO's the elite numbers have grown slightly beyond their own targets.
Also as these numbers are 2+ years in the past, one would assume more exist) and while they do not want to turn away
Thanks for pulling up that thread. I need to get an estimate on the number of PE's. It looks like Elite levels are log-normally distributed, just as one might expect.
I was tinkering with the concept of SWU's the other day and wondered why DL gives them for the higher coach fares. I don't have much info on DL, but was looking at SWU's for the hypothetical case of CO.
For the case of CO, if you look at the entire fleet, there are about 2,400 BusinessFirst seats. In most cases, each seat can be sold twice in 24 hours (PEK, HKG, etc. are exceptions)--it might work out to roughly 4,000 seats a day or 1.46 million a year. If CO gave three SWU's annuallly to PE's as Delta does, that's potentially 75k seats or roughly 5% of inventory a year--a lot of giveaways. So, I could understand why Delta restricts upgrades on their SWU's to all but the highest coach fares.
