I think that's a great idea. Airlines have turned smoking in to a pariah activity, but they still have the systems and infrastructure to designate seats as "smoking" and "non-smoking" ... I propose we turn these into "screaming" and "non-screaming" ... and the following people should select the "screaming" seats:
- anyone wishing to use a cellphone before or after (and if airlines start allowing in-flight calls), during, a flight
- anyone wishing to use VOIP services over in-flight Internet
- anyone with children
- any AARP members who wish to bother their neighbors with stories and photos of their grandchildren
- college kids on their first trip to Europe whose every other word is, like, "like."
- self-important, pompous twits who think an airplane is their cubicle in their office, discussing and practicing their sales pitch for Spacely Sprockets.
- couples on their way to a honeymoon who insist on calling each other "pookums" and "smoochie."
- anyone blasting any sort of music over "open-air" headphones that "shares" their "music" with half the cabin.

In short, everyone who insists on a less than quiet cabin can sit in "screaming."
