I much prefer BA, but it's not worth it for the hassle at Heathrow, so AMS it is a lot of the time. That said, the loss of LHR would be a big blow for the region.

There's been a serious cutback of routes to LON over the last year or so.

LCY - Eastern had 2 or 3 a day, now nothing
STN - cut back from 5 to 3 on some days
LGW - BA only dropped this route at Easter. I don't think Jet2 have made much of it.

I wonder whether Jet2 will stay on the LGW route and compete with BA?

Emirates is already doing well, and this can only benefit them. I wonder what it will mean for transatlantic traffic. AA promised a NCL-JFK route and even sold tickets but it never got off the ground. Maybe this will tempt them back. There are rumours that Jet2 are planning something along those lines too.
