Be careful with credit cards. Most now charge a 3% surcharge for foreign transactions (mine charges 2% but rebates 1%). Make sure you do your homework.
If you want to save the most money use either a Capital One Mastercard or Visa, they don't charge any fee at all for international charges, or an American Express card. They don't charge a fee either but are accepted in fewer places.
