  • Hard Plastic Triangles I never understood the concept of these. The shape was totally impractical and they were again bulky and difficult to carry with you.
Given that, what's an example of a well-designed amenity kit? I still have a leather (or is it pleather?) tie case from Delta in the late 1980s or early 1990s that I still use to this day to hold ties when I travel. I also remember a leather (or pleather) CD case from about the same era (which I don't use).
I remember the tins too well, and that is one of the few versions I never kept. As you note, they are totally impractical for other uses. I still have one of the "teflon" triangles in my inventory, for some unexplained reasons, but have never found a use for it.

As for a well-designed amenity kit, my favorites are two. One is a navy soft leather bag I obtained in the late 80's/early 90's. It may actually have been a 1st class amenity kit, back in the days when DL had an FC service to Europe. There was also a soft leather BE kit, that came in both tan and red, in the mid-90's, that is quite useful for many things.
