Remember how America voted in the past two elections. The Republicans got voters out to the polls to vote for anti-gay marriage initiatives, rather than for support of a war that confused terrorism with despotism. To middle America, being gay is worse than being a terrorist. At least terrorists can be fought over there so they won't fight us over here. The homos are everywhere, trying to usurp Christian values (in their world, gay marriage is an abomination; marrying and divorcing several times, normal, as long as the parties (and perhaps, by extension, their lawyers) are of opposite gender).
