OT – Surprising efficient passport office.

After being given a royal bollocking from an immigration officer last week about the state of my passport and the fact that my super glue fix on the picture page now looks rather bad I decided to get a new one.

On Tuesday I phoned the passport help line to get an appointment in London to get a new one. To my surprise I got an appointment for 12:45 yesterday. Not really knowing my way around London I ended up at Victoria just before 11:45 so decided to kill time sitting in the pub opposite then entrance to the office. 3 drinks later and a quick pee I went over to join the queue expecting the worst.

The amazing thing was that it took no longer than 15 minutes from entering the door completing all formalities and leaving. I was in shock!

I was expecting far worse so had booked an appointment at my friends Salon in New Cavendish Street for 3.30. This required me to kill more time the only way I know how. I tired to post a thread from my phone asking if anybody was around and wanted to have an afternoon refreshment but the phone gave up on me.

Any way the point being I was very surprised and happy with the passport service. Just a shame I had to spend £97 on a new one after just 3 years of use. on the plus side in another year it would have been full any way.
