Time for an update I think... I'm currently sat in the EDI Terraces, with Sheep watching interestedly the comings and goings

And what a difference 6 weeks makes! I set off in plenty of time to get to airport for traffic - and it was a doddle. Went to check-in expecting queues - and there were people sat at desks doing nothing (that does not mean we need to reduce the number of desks BA!)... did SSCI assisted by a pleasant young lady who adored Sheep and who wouldn't take no for an answer when I said I knew what I was doing - and his status was recognised as we got ushered to the gold card 'queue' ("it's our frequent flier check-in"). Well I thought, this is BA and a BAA airport... it can't stay like this, security must be appalling...

Went upstairs to security, and 6 lines were open, and I had a 10 second wait - just barely time to get my shoes off -for which the guy thanked me for being ready! However, what have they done to the metal detectors - it's the second time my bra underwire has set them off

Through to the lounge, and they've even instigated an open access lounge - no one on guard to check my boarding pass and card Not sure that's quite a good idea. And I arrived just as a fresh round of sandwiches did

All in all, a reminder what airport travel should be like... and I'm flying into LCY, and so far (everything crossed, and Sheep threatening to phone Willie if it doesn't) everything on time.

If only it were like this all the time
