Not quite sure what you're asking. I'm NW Plat and my wife is NW silver. When we travel together on DL (more frequently now that we're in TPA), we will sometimes get to ATL in time to make an earlier connection. We've always had to pay the fee to switch flights but have never had to separate our reservations. Don't think there is any special treatment for anyone other than DL Medallions.
