There are some threads here in the forum from people who had bad service experiences at the W. While the service is not the Ritz Carlton I never had any issues there.
I was at the Westin Chosun in May and was upgraded to one of the suites, very large room with large glass work table and 42" plasma TV, with a side view of the square in front of city hall.

They didn't take a pitcure of me on arrival. I took the airport bus from Incheon Airport and was greeted by a staff as the buss arrived at the hotel with room key and escorted to my room. So I never stopped at the check in desk.

I also stayed at the Ritz Carlton for 3 days after I checked out of the Westin Chosun. Yes the service was much better at the Ritz, but the hotel was old and the my room was old, not just the old Ritz style. So, I prefer the Westin over the Ritz Carlton. Besides, the upgraded suite at the Westin beats a standard room at the Ritz Carlton anytime.
