Never mind, I was a bad FT'er and didn't search before I posted. Found the answer in a thread a few months old. Mods, feel free to close.
I don't see why not. If any TSA'er asks you about them, tell them that you made them yourself while serving time for the way you reacted the last time TSA tried to take something away from you.
