I left my car at rental retrun without waiting for checkout - now what?
I was cutting things a bit close to catch a flight at LAX yesterday. That was my own fault. However, when I returned the car, there were no agents in sight to check me out. I finally saw one, and I waved them over with some urgency, but that didn't seem to motivate them.
After a few minutes, I ran into the Preferred office with my contract, dropped it on the desk, and said "I can't wait anymore... I have to run."
The agent said, "Go ahead, don't miss your flight. We'll mail your receipt."
So off I went. However, I haven't received my email receipt, which usually comes while I am on the bus back to the terminal. Does this mean I was never checked out? Should I really expect a receipt to show up by mail? Any other advice? I can't seem to get details at avis.com. Is there info available there after checkout?
