NW just posted a $2 billion profit. If they can buy YX for a fraction of that and YX can turn even a modest profit while keeping out LCC from MKE, then it could be money well spent.
NW has never been consistent in Milwaukee. They do not need Milwaukee. They would gut what little of a hub we have. Also they are canceling a lot of flights. They are a bad airline. Way worse than Airtran could ever be. If NW took over Midwest it would be the worst thing to happen.
