They book in A or P inventory I think which is considered Y. I book it as upgrades on highly traveled business routes are hard to come by on key business travel days/times. The WSJ had a good point...why not sell the best seats for the highest price? The balancing act is to not alienate the frequent flyers but they will still get the upgrades in non business travel markets.
