I agree entirely about Malaga (which is a bit of a gem really, often overlooked ancient city, as is Ronda). PB and Marbella - nothing special, but have to stay somewhere and if it's a good price, then Marbella is as good a base as anywhere I suppose. I was just shocked by the complete overdevelopment of what seemed like the entire coast west of Malaga. It's no surprise that there's a house price crash in the making there. There's a fast (toll) autopista which means you can pretty much get to wherever you want quickly if you've got a car.
