I have looked at both DL and UA'a COC in the last year or so. UA's was much more customer friendly than DL's from what I could tell. In that time, I have seen UA seek to route passengers on other carriers without much pressure. When there has been a problem, I don't necessary say "Rule 240" but I might ask to be "protected" on other flights.
